The 2027 ISPIM Innovation Conference, Unlocking the Frontiers of Innovation, will bring together 500 innovation professionals from more than 50 countries for three days of knowledge exchange in Riga, a Baltic hub for technology and entrepreneurship.

Riga provides a compelling setting for exploring the evolving frontiers of innovation. The city brings together research, industry, entrepreneurship and public policy within an ecosystem shaped by digital technologies, engineering and advanced manufacturing. Its strong research capabilities and international outlook support collaboration and globally connected ventures.

At the heart of this ecosystem is Riga Technical University, one of the Baltic region’s leading universities for science, engineering and innovation. Together with research institutes, technology parks, start-ups, businesses and public-sector partners, it supports the development, commercialisation and scaling of new technologies.

Riga provides a rich context for exploring how organisations in IT, energy, space, dual-use technologies, robotics and nanotechnologies can achieve international success. It also creates opportunities to identify practical approaches to better industry–academia collaboration, turning research and expertise into commercial and societal impact.

The city offers an important setting for examining how innovation policy can accelerate growth, and how deep-tech start-ups and ecosystems can attract investment, enter international markets and scale successfully.

Riga’s historic keys provide a fitting conference symbol, representing access, connection and the potential to unlock ideas, markets and partnerships. They reflect the challenge of connecting knowledge with application, local ecosystems with global opportunities, and technological ambition with meaningful impact.

By combining creativity, resilience and cooperation with an international, technology-driven outlook, Riga offers an ideal setting for Unlocking the Frontiers of Innovation.

We invite submissions sharing research, practical insights and real-world experiences of developing, managing and scaling innovation. If you are unsure whether your idea is suitable, please contact admin@ispim.org.
